Using Learning Management System for Pre-service Teaching Practicuum

September 3, 2018 / GuidesFor Team

One of the most advantageous features of a Learning Management System (LMS) over traditional classroom instruction is its recorded nature. Resources, Blackboard notes, and entire lectures are by default recorded by the LMS system for review.
That feature is invaluable to pre-service teaching. Pre-service teaching is the practice of having prospective teachers conduct their first classes under the supervision of fully certified and experienced educators. It is part of the culture of education and a tradition among academics.  Learning Management System allows the pre-service teacher to conduct classes without the lurking presence of a supervisor that can add stress and lose the respect of their students. However, the system by its nature can allow their mentors to review the pre-service teacher’s performance based on the recording feature of the LMS.
