A new feature called the class progress tool provides teachers with insights and predetermined notification when students meet predefined criteria. The Parental control panel allows parents to view assignments, grades, and a two-way feedback system between the teacher and the parent/guardian of the pupil.
This is one of many updates that was released by BrightSpace in the past 12 months. In an article by teachthought.com, It is strongly suggested that the best way to involve parents in the online nature of eLearning and LMS is to provide a space for parents themselves. It looks like at least one of the hundreds of Learning Management Systems for primary and secondary school students listened to the suggestion. The article talks in detail about other updates, apart from the extremely useful Parental Control Panel. It is a welcome addition and should have been a standard feature in the first place. After all, a child education should not be restricted to the four walls of the classroom.
